1. Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation is again on the news for a controversial scene from the anime

Mushoku Tensei jobless reincarnation
episode 6 scene featuring Rudeus and a slave dwarf girl.

To give a context for those who are not following the series is that, the main protagonist of this Isekai show namely Rudeus is seen to buy a slave who is a dwarf girl with mere 5years of age and after seeing her dead eyes, he offers her a death.

The 6th episode of Mushoku Tensei, when Master Fitz suggests Rudeus that in kingdoms when noble childs lack talent they buy slaves and train them to fill that role. Thus Rudeus went on to buy one for his pupil Zanoba.

But soon the whole thing about slave buying and offering a death in the episode became a huge debate in the anime community. Such that the author himself has to step in and defend Rudeus and himself. The message was looked like an apology but he later shrugged of telling that you guys might have misinterpreted it.

Whether apology or no apology by author, it doesn’t change the fact that this is a fictional story which is been set in such harsh ways and every fan out there must understand that these stories are nothing less than mirror of historical events where huge amounts of peoples were facing slavery in the past. We just need to understand the gravity of such situations and feel gratitude enough that we don’t live in that era anymore.

At last whether to accept such harsh facts or accept it just as any other fictional story is your decision to take.
