Level 1 Demon Lord and One Room Hero: Quite Funny

If I have to summarize the anime in one sentence then I would describe it as,
“A perfect new dish with same old ingredients to serve yourself in this hot summer.”

What’s the plot of the anime?

So the plot goes like, about 10 years ago there is a hero faction which revolted against the vicious Demon lord, who was creating havoc in the human world. During the final battle, the Hero Max was able to defeat the Demon lord and then Demon lord went to a deep slumber but before going he promised the hero that he will return someday and they face each other once again.

Cut to the present timeline, and the Demon lord has been awaken but with a chibi like body instead of what it used to be. But even though he was excited to see what his enemy i.e. Hero has been up to in these 10 years. As the demon lord fly through the air and reach to the place where the hero was living only to find that he is really in a bad shape and has become a dysfunctional part of the society.

With a deep disheartening of the Demon lord by watching the hero like this, he decides to stay with him and help him again get back to old self so that they could fight once again.

The story is trying to portrait a tom & jerry kind of relationship between two enemies, and this rivalry plus can’t live without you attitude might recreate what we have always loved as a 90’s kid.

This is it, but the more you look into the concept you will find that it will generate an enormous amount of comedy and that’s what we are hopping for.

Characters of the show

There are mostly 2 main characters of the show the Demon and the Hero. Apart from them rest are in supporting characters and as we will progress further the story we will find which character is leaving a mark on the story.

• Maou (Demon Lord): Once a powerful Demon Lord just 10 years back has now turned into a small chibi female. He turned into a female character because of the underdeveloped body when resurrected. The underdeveloped body was caused by the lack of accumulation of magical powers. After her disappointed interaction with the hero max, she decided to be his caretaker and help him to again regain his old self.
• Max (The Hero): A formidable warrior who once defeated the Demon Lord and restored the peace on earth is now living a self-indulgent life. The cause of his current state was due to his scandalous behavior with the public and a lot of allegation by the females against him forces him to leave his position and fame. (Spoiler) He was portrait as a pervert and addicted to masturbation as in one of the scene in the episode 1, he was trying to jerkoff even though the Demon Lord was unconscious inside his house.

• Zenia: She is the personal secretary of the Demon Lord Maou. She accompanied Mou to the hero’s place when Mou moved in with the hero. She has a strong managerial talent but she lacks magic skills. She has drinking habit and becomes dangerous to everyone around her when drunk.

Demographic and Streaming Details

This anime is picked up from web manga series which is a Shonen jump, basically targeting 13+ older audience.

The genre of the anime is comedy and fantasy, which is quite evident from the 1st episode itself.

According to Myanimelist website the anime is animated by studio SILVER LINK., Blade . Their some of the popular titles are Kokoro Connect (2012), Masamune-kun no Revenge (2017), and Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai (2021).

Final Thought

So, the concept is looking quite interesting but whether it will impress us in long run or not is just the matter of episodes.
